Director of Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement
Maria has extensive experience in the not-for-profit, community and academic sector. She has worked in Cambodia for an educational NGO, and in Australia as a Research Assistant and tutor, teaching about memory and trauma. Since joining MCWH in 2011, she has led research, training and projects related to sexual and reproductive health, gender and racial equity, preventing violence against women and mental health. Maria has collaborated with community organisations, government agencies and research institutions in designing, implementing and evaluating projects. She is committed to advancing health equity through community-led research and advocacy.
Maria has a Bachelor of Arts, Master of International Development and a PhD in Gender and Cultural Studies. She speaks Khmer and in her spare time, she enjoys running, writing, and relaxing with her family.
