MCWH is currently hiring for a Communications Officer to join our team. The Communications Officer will contribute to the implementation of MCWH’s communication strategies through digital content development, design, and social media engagement.

This is a temporary 12-month appointment until 30 August 2025. Options are available for this to be either a full time (38 hours per week) or part time 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week) based on what best suits you.

Essential
Technical Requirements & Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications or a related field
- Excellent written English skills and attention to detail
- At least 3 years’ experience in a communications role
- Strong creative and publication skills, including using formatting and design in software such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
- Fluency with a range of software, online platforms and social media apps (Hootsuite, Microsoft suite, WordPress, MailChimp, Eventbrite/Humanitix
- Experience creating, graphic designing and moderating content for social media platforms in a business or not-for-profit context
- Experience in stakeholder engagement with health, feminist or social justice organisations and stakeholders
- Experience writing for a wide range of audiences including media, policy makers, speakers new to English, and the general public
- Experience promoting programs and events
- Commitment to, and understanding of migrant and refugee women’s health and gender equality from a feminist, intersectional perspective
