Happy International Women’s Day (IWD)!
This year’s theme #GenerationEquality brings together women’s rights activists for gender equality.
We’re thrilled to be part of this campaign and have been hosting #IWDMCWH events across Victoria with women in the community.
Our week-long celebrations started last week with a talk on gender equality by our Arabic speaking Bilingual Health Educator, Wafa Ibrahim at East Coburg Newlands Neighbourhood Houses. We also attended a talk-and-craft event at Hunt Club Community and Arts Centre and danced the night away at the Australian Bosnian Women’s Association with the City of Brimbank. We’re only half way through our special International Women’s Week so be sure to follow our celebrations on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
#GenerationEquality calls for improved health care services that appropriately respond to women’s needs. In this special WRAP edition our Executive Director, Dr Adele Murdolo, reflects on her mother’s story in accessing reproductive health care. She also writes about the findings of Advancing the Evidence, our migrant and refugee women’s sexual and reproductive health conference on how we can work together to increase migrant women’s access to culturally appropriate care.

Until next time,
