MCWH is seeking to recruit a Committee member to join the organisation’s ASEF (Advocacy, Stakeholder Engagement and Fundraising) Committee of the Board. The role of the Committee is to provide strategic advice and guidance to MCWH regarding stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and business development. Currently, the Committee comprises of the CEO, three members of the Board of Management, and three members of the Senior Leadership Team.
The tenure for this position is ongoing and Committee Members can be based in any Australian state or territory. This is a voluntary position.
Desired Attributes:
1. MCWH is seeking a Committee member with specific skills and experience in the following:
- Not-for-profit strategic fundraising and engagement with philanthropic organisations
- Strategic business development with specific expertise in fee-for-service
- Donor relations and stewardship
2. Membership of, and/or a strong connection to, migrant and refugee communities;
3. Demonstrated commitment to social justice, taking a feminist approach to achieving equality for migrant women, and respect for diverse voices, identities, cultures, rights and aspirations;
4. Passion for migrant and refugee women’s health and wellbeing;
5. Capacity and willingness to apply specific skills and expertise to the implementation of the Committee’s responsibilities;
6. Capacity to commit to the following:
- Attendance at least two online ASEF Committee meetings per year
- Participation in Committee meetings and email discussion between Committee meetings
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, advice and review of MCWH strategic direction as it relates to ASEF;
- Contribution to the ASEF Committees as required;
- Active contribution to developing a strong profile and broad support base in the community;
- Willingness and ability to expand the networks of MCWH.
