Our Screening Saves Lives Campaign helps to address barriers to cancer screening literacy, uptake and service navigation among migrant and refugee communities in Australia.
Screening Saves Lives (SSL) is a national cancer screening and prevention awareness campaign for migrant and refugee communities. Focussing on breast, cervical and bowel cancer screening, the SSL campaign will be delivered through awareness-raising activities including health education and community information sessions, social media campaigns, community events and media partnerships.
The Screening Saves Lives Campaign is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care

Cancer Screening for Migrant and Refugee Communities
People from migrant and refugee backgrounds with cancer often have poorer cancer journeys and outcomes than other people in Australia usually due to cancer being found late. Cancer screening data shows that fewer people from migrant and refugee communities take part in cancer screening in comparison to other people in Australia.
The Screening Saves Lives Project will increase migrant and refugee communities’ participation in breast, cervical and bowel cancer screening through the delivery of in-language education sessions and community engagement activities nationally.
